Before model adaptation
What needs to improve, and how will you recognize it?
Prepare the task and expected result before choosing a training method.
Is retrieval the same as training?
No. Retrieval supplies selected information to the application when answering. Adaptation changes model behavior through an appropriate training method. Identify whether missing information or task behavior is the actual constraint.
How many examples are needed?
There is no useful universal number for every task and model. Start with the range of inputs, quality of expected results and the method's actual requirements. A larger collection of inconsistent examples can still be unsuitable.
What data can be used?
The responsible organization needs to confirm its intended use and handling. Keep private or unclear material out of an initial inquiry, and arrange protected review separately.
When is the result ready to deploy?
After the agreed task evaluation and application checks, including access, operating cost and failure behavior. Keep known limitations visible and define ongoing change review.
